Thank you for your thoughts regarding Tookie Williams and capitol punishment. I have read many articles lately about this issue but not one has hit the mark the way yours has. I believe, as you do, that many people are getting caught up in his redemption while losing sight of the horrendous crimes he committed. If he is indeed a changed man (and I too believe he is), then God will deal with him appropriately. If his books and his execution cause just one black child to opt for a life that does not include gangs, then his existence as tragic as it was, will not have been in vain. As long as we live on earth, redemption does not negate the laws of society.
